Corpse Castle feels a bit like a straightforward metaphor for games, having you kill foes until there are enough bodies underneath you to reach the top.
In this gruesome action game, you need to build a pile of bodies tall enough to reach the height of power and claim a sickening throne. Naturally, this means you’re going to have to win a lot of fights, but with a straightforward attacking system, you should be well on your way in a hurry. Just swing your fists into enemy faces to leave a layer of bodies beneath your feet and you should be all good in no time.
Not that these creatures are game to have you win out, as they all seem interested in reaching the throne themselves. The result is a scramble amongst the bodies and blood, leaping around and swinging your fists at creatures, heroes, and other sinister beings that live in this gross pit. Also, a pile of bodies isn’t the most stable place to try to stand, so the ground is continually shifting and being rebuilt underneath you. Try not to stumble all the way back down again. It would be a shame for such a sickening, evil being to die because it tripped on a loose femur, right?
Corpse Castle is a bit stomach-churning if you think about it too much, but is presented in a visual style that doesn’t make the gore too shocking. Even so, you might want to be sure you (and your potential multiplayer buddy) stay strong as you dodge blows on your climb.
