BEAN BEING, a game created in 48 hours for an underground GGJ, sees you baring a shovel and trying to take care of a giant seed in the middle of the screen.
You are a bean tasked with taking care of this giant husk full of seeds. At first, this little husk lives within a small patch of other bushes. These bushes soon grow seeds of their own, which can be hit and harvested. Once you have a seed, you are able to plant them to help defend your husk.
The various different colored seeds create a bunch of different plants. Mushrooms push bugs away, spiky bushes destroy enemies, and flowers shoot seeds out, hurting enemies. As time ticks on, more challenging bugs are lured to your husk. Shell-bearing snails are quite tough to beat, while worms move quickly towards the plants.
Though your shovel can fight off these bugs, they do get much greater in number, soon consuming the screen. You can try to last for as long as you are able, but these bugs are very quick to nom away at your defenses! You’ll need to be quick with your shovel and smart with your seed planting if you want to protect your husk.
