Instead of battling enemies or talking to characters in Dungeon Exploration Prototype, you are exploring an abandoned dungeon, trying to gain back some of the money you spent getting there.
It costs a lot to chase treasure and explore ruins. Getting the location of the treasure, having enough food for the journey, and buying rope all adds up. In order for this adventure to be worth it, you need to find enough valuables and be able to haul them out of this temple to at least break even.
Once you have made it inside the dungeon, you must start exploring. It’s been a long journey and you are not in the best of shape from the start, though, but luckily, you won’t be fighting. Instead, you will walk around, seeing what you can find. You’ll need to keep a sharp eye out in this temple, as there are plenty of hidden treasures, secrets, and even ferocious traps for you to fall into. Trick floors may fall away if you don’t quickly run by them, arrows might fly across the wall if you step on a tile, or treasure chests might just disappear.
Inside these chests, and on the skeletons of past adventurers, you will find various treasures. You are then told the value of each treasure, and it is up to you to decide if you want to keep the item (which takes up valuable space within your inventory). Some items, like molded bread, just aren’t worth it. You can see how much in the negative you are, in terms of money, in the corner of the screen.
Dungeon Exploration Prototype takes you into a dungeon without all of the fuss of fighting, and really brings in a story of a struggling adventure seeker just hoping to make back their buck. However, it is worth noting this Dungeon Exploration Prototype is just a pre-production version of the main game, The Epocha Tower, which will have NPCs and enemies, as well as much much more.
