Explore a voxel alien planet, looking to find your way to a portal while destroying the world around you. Smith and Winston is a stunning mixture of exploration and action game where you need to investigate alien planets.
A signal is detected in deep space, causing the Federation to send Smith and Winston into space to investigate the occurrence. You have to take control of one of the two and find the signal’s source as you seek loot and information on an ancient race.
Smith and Winston makes for some lovely co-op where your other character explores around the world with you, destroying everything around you. This can make for some interesting moments, as even the ground below you is completely destructible. This means that if your partner is carelessly destroying some of the land, you’ll need to watch your step.
Within the world of Smith and Winston, there are many, many different areas. Some need keys to get to the portal, while others can be walked through without so much effort. You’ll find treasure, new weapons and many, many enemies to destroy.
I got the chance to play Smith and Winston at Develop: Brighton indie game showcase. There, I played in local co-op, dying a lot of the time, but otherwise enjoying destroying the entire world.
Smith and Winston is available now on Steam.
