The Alabaster is looking kind of empty these days, but you can find out what happened by solving power-routing cable puzzles in Filament.
You’d think we would just stop sending out spaceships in video game land, what with the amount of them that suddenly end up with missing crews. Someone needs to make a game about you taking your crew out to go missing, I say. Cut out the middleman. Anyway, in this title, the crew of The Alabaster has somehow up and left, but have left a bunch of clues behind if you’re feeling like playing detective. What else were you going to do aboard the ship, anyway?
Solving wire-routing puzzles is a big part of getting this mystery solved, though. If you’ve ever had to mess around with wires for any period of time, you know how tangled and messy things can get. You have to get the colors tied up around the right pillars correctly, which seems like it couldn’t possibly be that complicated. Yet it can be the most complicated thing ever. This game has many challenging wiring puzzles for you to do – over three hundred puzzles, more specifically – so expect to spend some time fiddling with wire connections.
There’s rarely a bit of mystery or intrigue while fiddling with your complex wire setup (besides “What on Earth does this connect to?”), so Filament should make wire puzzles a lot of fun for you. Hopefully you won’t find out anything too sinister about that missing crew by the time you’ve solved everything.
Filament is available now on the Humble Store and Steam.
