Mochi Mochi Boy is a puzzle game where you play a giant snake looking to fill all of the tiles in a room without getting stuck.
You are this snake that needs to cover all of a certain type of symbol in each stage in order to win, going through various levels to gain points. You need to loop around each area without bumping into yourself as well, creating challenge as you try not to crash into yourself. If you can do that right, maybe some slimy pals will join you.
You are able to pick the type of levels you want to take on, as well as the number of rooms, before starting. Each batch of rooms has a time limit, so you must make it through all of those levels in that time in order to keep your slime character. At the end of the round, if you have succeeded, you will gain some points to then spend in a machine that unlocks more goopy friends. Slimes are the cute goal in this game.
The various types of levels are what really sets Mochi Mochi Boy apart from most other fill-all type games. The first sets of rooms are basic; you just need to move through them, filling each tile, before the time runs out. Once you have finished a room, you are given more time to keep going. If you happen to run into a dead end or loop back on yourself and get stuck, you can restart the room, but you will lose that time.
This isn’t the only level type Mochi Mochi Boy contains, either. The next type of level is more exciting, as it contains monsters. These monsters cannot be avoided (you do need to fill ALL of the tiles, after all), but they will take up some of your time each time you run into them. The third type of room has trap, which can take up a major amount of time and also change how the level is laid out.
You can pick how many of these different dungeons you want in a row, or you can choose to do all one-hundred-and-fifty levels, one after another, in a single go. With all of these different ways to play, and so many cute slimes to unlock, this little puzzle game is simple and fun to take some time playing.
