Kaze and the Wild Masks‘ bunny hopping powers are handy, but what happens when you hit water or need to fly? That’s when some special masks come in real handy.
Vegetables are alive and out kidnapping folks. Are you at all surprised this game is inspired by 90’s platformers with a plot like that? Anyway, you are left with the task of bringing your kidnapped pal home, and as a spry rabbit, you have most of the tools to do it. A good jump and some heavy feet will carry you far in a land of dangerous, yet highly squishy, vegetable monsters.
It’s not quite enough power to get you through everything, though, As such, you can collect a variety of masks that give you powers from other animals. A tiger’s pounce can be helpful for tougher prey, and being able to swim like a shark is pretty useful when there’s a lot of water around. If you need to hurry, the lizard mask gives you a solid sprint (lizards are faster than rabbits? I need to read up on animals, I guess). If the ground’s a little too far below you, you can also borrow an eagle’s ability to fly for a bit.
Kaze and the Wild Masks looks to give players a variety of ways to traverse its world, giving them lots of options for varied stages. Plus, all of these animals and veggie creatures look great in motion, capturing a bit of the bizarre 90’s cartoon nature along with its platforming. It’s a vibrant-looking title with some fun action, and you can grab the open Beta now and find out if you feel the same.
Kaze and the Wild Masks is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can grab its open Beta or add it to your wishlist on Steam.
