Living Orb – a big, round, light-covered games console – was showcased at Bemyhuman recently, and using those lights, you could play a game of Pac-Man.
Pac-Man is a pretty well known game, but if you don’t know how it works, you collect yellow pills and you run away from colorful ghosts, trying to stay alive. On this large round ball, you see loads and loads of colored circles. As you move the ball around, you can see your character’s colored light moving onto white lights or yellow lights.
If it moves onto yellow lights, it eats it, and then the tile is white when you leave. Ghosts also move around at their own pace, so you will need to watch all parts of the ball for these colored phantoms. Keeping an eye out behind you isn’t so easy on a rounded controller, and I found myself dying again and again.
Playing games like Pac-Man on Living Orb adds so much more challenge and dimension to the game and it was really fun to check out! It will also be interesting to see what other uses the developer can find for the ball of lights.
You can find out more information on Living Orb and the games that have been on it, on the developer’s site.
