A map and a walkie-talkie to speak with a missing writer are all that you have to go on as you wander the forest and caves of Lost Brothers.
Our poor writer has up and gotten herself lost in a cave system in the woods, and you just happen to be the person who picked up the signal. You know these woods pretty well, so it’s up to you to traverse them and help the writer get home again. Trouble is, your brother died in these woods years ago, so the memories that this place stirs up are far from pleasant. Still, someone’s in trouble, so you’re going to have to endure your thoughts if you’re going to help them in time.
As you explore, you’ll steadily figure out what happened to the protagonist’s brother, what happened in the mine the writer is exploring, and some other aspects of your own past. That’s assuming you survive this trip, as the wood has already proven itself to be a dangerous place. Also, while the protagonist knows the area, he’s being steered around by you, the player. And I got lost on a single lane street in Japan once, so I am far from someone who would be helpful in a situation where you need to have a decent sense of direction.
Lost Brothers places a focus on story and exploration, slowly feeding you pieces of the narrative as you wander through the woods and caves (assuming you don’t get too lost yourself).
Lost Brothers is available now on Steam.
