Some decisions really change your life, causing you to gain something or lose something. Still, you have to move on no matter what you decided.
In This is your life now, a walking simulator full of decisions made for the Ludum Dare 44, you are going to need to make these decisions and walk forward with them. Starting at childhood, you go through various stages of life and are presented with different characters that pose a question. Some questions take away other options you have further down the road, while others might take something away that you currently have.
You’ll gain and lose a lot in the game of life. When presented with a question (which is shown above a character that represents that query), you’ll see a negative and positive to them. You might just get stuff for being alive, like receiving toys as a kid. Picking the sibling option, however, will take away those toys as you need to share.
You’ll need to make these kinds of decision before walking forward,seeking to have the best possible life. There are a lot of stages and many major decisions to make, but once your life is over, everything is written in plain text, showing you exactly what you’ve gained and lost.
There’s something about seeing a life reduced down to important decisions and what you’ve gained and lost from them – missed love, gained job you adore, gained minor drug addiction, lost good grades. It all seems so strange written like that, all based on the decisions you had made previously. This is your life now is a game worth playing just to see how your decisions affect the character’s life.
