Ever managed a block of apartments full of people with their own expectations, needs, and requirements?
In Rentstagram, a management game made for the Global Game Jam 2019, you are looking to keep everyone happy while trying to not run out of cash.
You have a large house full of different flats – some hold two people, some hold one person. You will need to use the app on your phone to fill these apartments with renters in order to make some well-earned cash.
As you look through tenants, you will start filling up the rooms and collecting rent at the end of the month. Each person you pick to house has a budget and a bit of information on them, so you will need to use this to decide if you want to rent to them. At the end of the month, you will collect the rent, which is where some problems might appear. Tenants have loads of issues from repairs they want you to pay for, or noisy neighbors not getting along. Some may even want to move out as the house wasn’t to their liking.
The various different apartments all have a stat that let you know how much disrepair has gone on there, too, and even empty apartments start to lose value over time. You will also need to pay for repairs to your rooms, as no one will rent a low quality, trashed flat.
Managing money is the name of the game, but hopefully you can keep all your tenants happy in Renstagram!
Rentstagram is available on the Global Game Jam website.
