Melbits POD lets you hatch cute critters using your mobile device, using the pod to change, grow, and play with them through your interactions in the world.
A few years back I attended an event in Spain where I was shown these Tamagotchi-esque pod-creatures that are then transported into super fun games. Melbits POD has come quite far since I saw it in person, showcasing so much more for these pets.
This physical toy communicates with a tablet or phone to bring your creatures to life. You are able to use the POD toy to capture your pets, then put the POD in different environments to grow your seed and make an interesting creature. The Melbits POD response to movement, temperature, and light, which can change how your creature is growing, which can then be viewed using your phone and the POD itself. There is a lot of AR tech in this toy.
You can also connect your Melbits POD to your phone to take pictures, pet and play with your creature, and watch them grow and change. You can unlock different accessories for your pet to help them look as cool as you’d like them to, bringing out their personality. Want more creatures? In your hub, you can see all of your seeds and Melbits before adding a seed to incubate and turn into a full pet. You can also feed your creature, play with them, see their family tree, and much more.
Melbits POD is a super family friendly game that takes play outside of screens and allows you to carry your pet and change them in the real world.
