Mirror Drop takes you to surreal worlds of light and color, having you move around a reflective sphere to solve its puzzles.
These various worlds have loads of mirrors that you can light up, toggling them on and off. These mirrors then attract and push away the reflective orb, depending on if they are on and off.
This orb seems to have a mind of it’s own – one that loves light. When a mirror is full of color and light, the orb will move closer to it. There are clear orbs dotted around, which you need to get your reflecting orb into. It will then absorb that clear orb, getting bigger as long as it is completely aligned. Once your orb has devoured all of the clear orbs, you can move around, going straight into this reflective thing and head into a new puzzle.
Each puzzle, for me, seemed so strange at first. It took a lot of moving around and clicking to fully understand what I needed to absorb and where my reflective orb was. However, Mirror Drop is so stunning in the way it looks and so curious in all the puzzles that I really enjoyed looking around and playing with light.
Puzzle games rarely surprised and intrigue me. I find it hard to find puzzle games that I love or enjoy, but Mirror Drop is one of these puzzle games, filled with unique aspects and curiosity. It’s an extremely polished and well-designed puzzler for those who like color or challenge.
Mirror Drop is available for $7.99 on Itch.io and Steam.
