Sometimes, making a sandwich can be a super messy task. In Simple Sandwich, it seems like making sandwiches is the most chaotic event that could ever happen.
Playing with four players (locally), you become a piece of bread looking to become a sandwich. Many, many different ingredients are running around on the table, wishing to not be a part of your sandwich, so you must jump on them to make delicious combinations, before bumping on top of another piece of non-player bread and making it to the plate.
While you are collecting ingredients, you’ll see the other three players trying to make combinations in this rush to gain the most points possible. With a focus on hectic recipe creation, you will gain more points for making sandwiches that actually are tasty. You can also make monster sandwiches that send little sandwiches onto the table to attack your enemies, though these recipes are much more challenging to learn as there are only a few.
When it comes to stopping the other bits of bread, you can jump on them too, stunning them for a moment so you can get your ingredients. When playing Simple Sandwich at GameFest 2019, I spent a lot of time not quite sure what was going on, but enjoying it! There’s so much happening on that table that it’s hard to keep track of other players, but it’s pretty easy to jump on the things you want – if you’re fast enough. Simple Sandwich is just a lot of hectic fun!
Simple Sandwich is currently in development, but you can follow its creation on Twitter.
