P.E. Noire, a short game created for the Summer Slow Jams August 2018: Parody Games, has you playing a detective trying to solve a very major crime in your school.
You are a hall monitor, and with that title comes a bunch of responsibilities, but also some perks. You have to guard the halls, but you also get the perk of skipping P.E. Gym class (which, as we all know, is the worst of the classes in school). No dodgeball for you as you keep the halls clear and safe.
As it turns out, there wasn’t much to really do during your time as hall monitor – that is, until the principal called you to their office. They have a crime that needs solving and you are the only one that can figure it out. A student seems to be getting out of P.E. by forging sick notes. These sick notes are clearly signed by someone, and the principal feels it might have been the student.
They can’t accuse the student, Marvin, as the kid’s family donates to the school. You will need to explore the school, dig up some clues, and find everything you need to approach Marvin and see if he has done it.
The various characters in P.E. Noire are very funny to speak to, from the child nervous about their test to the kid playing with an expensive toy during recess. These little characters, as well as the polished graphics and effects within this game, really bring it beyond the average game jam entry. You can be the best hall monitor you can be; helping students, solving a crime, and keeping the hallways safe.
