Pixel Express tasks you with keeping watch on rail junction switches and knowing when to hit them to keep trains on the track and making deliveries.
A few places around town needs their goods in a hurry, and the train promises a quick way to get that stuff there on time. Trouble is, a few people need their goods, which means having a few trains running on a single track. To keep everything moving efficiently (or more importantly, to keep everyone from crashing), you’ll need to switch the rails when a train is about to pass by so that they can move down a different path and hopefully avoid disaster.
Thing is, how good is your ability to read a path when you’re juggling a few things moving through it at a time? When you have to guess where one train will go as another one is coming rushing your way. The game uses a bit of panic, and the complexity of the rail system, to keep you guessing as to where to put your train next, and if something goes awry, how to fix it in time. It’s a high-pressure game despite a cute art style, one that will keep you heavily focused on keeping your trains safe.
Pixel Express looks charming, but also looks to have a devious difficulty curve built around a compelling mechanic. If You think you;re up for its stressful deliveries, it’s worth having a look at its demo.
Pixel Express is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist or grab the demo from itch.io.
