Think Leon’s pretty dreamy? Dug Luis’ accent? Wished the merchant had more to offer you than just their wares? RE4: Otome Edition (Part I) is right for you.
This parody of the horror classic aims to explore things from Ashley’s perspective, something we weren’t made privy to during the course of the game that inspired this title. You’ll get to see the events that lead to her kidnapping…well, her multiple kidnappings, I guess. And that time you made her wait in a steel box for twenty minutes and then died anyway. I guess steel boxes are just good hiding places, even if your rescuer is incompetent.
More exciting than that, though, is the ability to get a little bit closer to the eligible bachelors of Resident Evil 4. Leon could be quite a catch, and possibly Luis as well (if you like them slightly sleazy). If they don’t really do it for you, Lord Saddler might make for an interesting date if you’re into powerful, but slightly tentacle-filled men. None of them work for me, though, as my heart belongs to that charming Merchant. Can’t help but swoon when he asks you, with a twinkle in his eye, “What’re ya buyin’?”
RE4: Otome Edition is going to be made available in two parts, the first of which is available now. This might leaving your budding romance with the Merchant on a cliffhanger ending, but you can always keep him in your thoughts until the next part releases.
RE4: Otome Edition (Part I) is playable for free (although you can make a donation to donate its developer) on itch.io.
