If a ghost rips itself open and asks me “Am I pretty now?”, how should I answer? Asking for a friend.
Red Bow puts you to work helping Roh, a girl who finds herself lost in a very unwelcoming place. Since you’re stuck here, you may as well try to figure out why you’re here and how you can leave. Not like it’s any fun sticking around talking to all of these haunted creatures that are stalking the buildings and streets. They’re a little too keen on seeing you dead, for the most part. Not much fun to hang around.
You can help Roh by sneaking her through the town, conversing with the spirits when they’re feeling chatty and avoiding them when they’re feeling murder-y. Of course, to escape you’ll need to find items and unveil the secrets of this town, doing so by poking and prodding at the game world until you find out what it’s been hiding from you. With a little clever item usage and some careful movement, you should be fine. So long as you were fine from the beginning. Are you sure there’s not some good reason why Roh has found herself here?
Multiple endings give you a few different ways to finish Roh’s story, but that’s assuming you can avoid the eerie creatures that rip themselves open before you, sway on broken necks, or who just peer into your soul through empty eyes. Wonderful folks, really. Certainly not the type of things that will leave you chilled through and through.
Red Bow is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Steam.
