Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks) asks you to work pretty hard to build towers out of zany objects, so it’s only fair that you be the one to knock them down again in the end.
If you have a young child (or you just like putting things on top of one another; I’m not judging), then you’re probably pretty familiar with what this game wants you to do. Weird stuff keeps showing up all around you, and you need to form it into some towering piles (which we’ve previously enjoyed doing). A lot of this stuff isn’t exactly stable, though, so you’ll really need to play around with what you’re given if you want to reach the heights this game demands of you.
It’s not just the goofy stuff that makes this so hard, though, as various other elements will be aiming to bring your tower down. Ghosts might be floating around looking to make you tip. quicksand might continually have you sinking, and dragons could be looking to burn it all down. So, not only do you need to build towers out of uneven objects, but you’ll be doing so while everyone is out to knock things down. Even your friends, if you’re playing in the game’s versus mode (although working together in co-op might be more advisable).
When you manage to put the whole thing together, though, you get rewarded with the ability to knock it all down again. The developers of Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks) know that making a tower out of weird stuff can be extremely rewarding, it’s that moment when you knock it all down again that you get a real sense of satisfaction. Well, that or I just haven’t grown up yet. Sorry. I can’t help that I still like making messes!
Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks) is available now on Stadia and Steam.
