In The Pizza Situation, you find yourself trying to use social media to stop others from eating the pizza you want to eat at a party that’s happening in a few days.
You are a blogger who rates pizza! That’s your dream hobby, so it’s what you do between going to school and being a moody teenager. There is a pizza launch party, which has free pizza, coming up this week. You want to attend to try the free pizza (on a student budget, free is ideal) but someone, according to your vision, is going to steal the last slice.
To stop that from happening, you need to use your social media skills to find out who exactly the person is, how to get invited to the party, and how to make them not want to come. This is all done through using various social media platforms and communicating through chat apps.
I got the chance to play a bit of the game at the Valencia Game Summit, where I very much enjoyed my time trying to get a girl a date so that she wouldn’t come to a most-likely terrible college party with pizza. Overall, I found that The Pizza Situation was very funny, completely pulling you into a very modern detective game. People will ask you for information you’ll need to find, photos you’ll need to download, and replies that you need to navigate through. It’s a challenge, but one worth it for some delicious pizza.
The Pizza Situation is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can follow its creation on Twitter or the game’s site.
