Spooky mansion, creepy premise, and a determined monster called ‘The Stalker’. Mix well to yield one litre of nightmare fuel in the form of Unknown.
You’re defenseless against this creepy-crawly, and it’s been programmed by the developer to track traces of player movements. It’s safe to say you’ll need to be very careful against this opponent
You will be playing as Amanda, a girl who has just lost both parents tragically. (Un)Fortunately, a woman claiming to be a friend of her father’s whisks her away to a mansion to live there. Living in a room with no windows, Amanda senses something amiss and overhears an eerie conversation between two suspicious people before they notice her and continue outside.
Amanda, alone in the giant mansion, finds herself locked in with no (easy) escape and trapped with something truly unsettling. If you’re playing with headphones/speakers capable of 3D sound, make sure to keep your volume up and you might have a small advantage when you can hear something creeping up behind you.
It will always be following you, as our monster tracks player movements, following you throughout the mansion. You’ll have only a small light to guide you through the dark mansion as you pick up clues and solve puzzles, so expect a few surprise encounters if you aren’t keeping an ear out. Try to keep your panic from going into overdrive when that monster is right on your heels. You need a clear head to figure out what’s going on.
Players will want to pay close attention to their actions and behaviors to other characters, as these will affect the outcome of the game as well. Can you escape the mansion and live to see another day? Maybe make some temporary, much-needed alliances? Or will you reunite with your parents?
Unknown is available on Steam.
