Warshmallows gives all players the same weapon, but gives many mobility options to add variety and chaos to its local PvP matches.
Warshmallows is a local multiplayer game where you and your friends fight against each other in hopes of being the last one alive. There are plenty of abilities like dashing, slowing down time, and triple jumping; you just need to have the speed and reflexes to keep yourself alive. This puts more focus on your own skills instead of having the best gun or finding the perfect weapon, as everyone has the same gun.
So far, I know I have described a pretty basic arena shooter, but these single screen arenas actually all get strung together with portals, allowing players to jump quickly from one arena to another, trying to escape each other. As the round progresses, some of these arenas get destroyed, stopping players from going into them and forcing players closer together.
All of the rounds are designed to be short 10 minute games, perfect so that other players can jump right back into the action without actually waiting too long. If you don’t have enough friends to play with, there are optional AIs within the game which learn while you play, adapting to your playstyle and working to be better at beating you. With these subtle unique aspects, I look forward to seeing where the game goes and how it is received by players.
Warshmallows is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
